I just finished this surf board painting a few days ago and have donated it to what was formerly known as KiteBoard for Cancer but is now called “Athletes for Cancer”.

This piece is dedicated to the memory of Corbin Shays, a father, husband, surfer and kiter who died of brain cancer at the age of 37 on January 4, 2011.  “Oceana” can be seen here as a goddess of the oceans where she plays and finds her strength, sensuality, grace and solace.

Check out the KB4C website for more info on the auction which happens July 14th, Saturday night in Hood River at their VIP party. I am also donating 4 embellished surf art giclees as well.

Before I dropped off my board to Tonia at KB4C this morning, I  showed my board and surf art giclees to Art Coyler at the North Pacific Surfboards factory  and not only did he gave me the full  factory tour which was really cool, he loved my work and has given me the thumbs up to offer my designs to their clientele on their surfboards.  Woohooooo!! They are world renowned surf board shapers and judging by the bevy of surfboards they had lined up for shipping to Santa Barbara, things are going very well for them indeed. Thanks Art for loving my work, I really appreciate it.
